Baking is one of my favourite things to do during the holidays. It fills the house with this yummy, festive smell and of course the tasting part afterwards is literally amazing! And the idea of always having some freshly baked cookies around while studying for exams in January makes it a whole lot more bearable. Today I made these chocolate chip cookies and I love them! I never baked chocolate chip cookies before so I was very proud when they came out perfectly. Of course I wanted to share the recipe with you guys so you can recreate them if you want to! Ingredients 125g (pure vegetable) butter, softened 125g sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 200g self-raising flour, sifted 1 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp water chocolate chips Start by preheating the oven to 180°C. Mix the sugar and the butter in a large bowl. Then add the baking powder, the vanilla extract, the self-raising flour and a little bit of water until a dough forms. Now you can add the chocolate chips. When the dough is ready you can start making little balls, flatten each gently with your fingers and spread them on a lined baking tray. Bake for about 12 minutes until they're golden brown. Leave on the baking tray for 5 minutes to cool. As you can see, they're pretty easy to make and they can be vegan if you opt for dark chocolate chips and pure vegetable butter. They're delicious with a glass of milk, a hot cup of tea or a hot cocoa. Enjoy!
